Popular singer Zlatan Ibile has accused the Nigerian government of not doing enough to tackle the economic hardship in the country.
He lamented that due to lack of government’s action, the Nigerian society was now adjusting to hardship as a norm.
Zlatan expressed serious concerns about the hardship in Nigeria while addressing British rapper Dave’s satire of Nigeria’s flamboyant clubbers and the impoverished beggers outside the club, in a recent interview with Madame Joyce in the UK.
"We are used to it [suffering and smiling], that’s how it has always been and the government isn’t doing anything about it,” he lamented.
The rapper added that regrettably, some of the beggers in the country have made begging their career and have refused to go into productive ventures despite receiving alms from generous Nigerians, including artists, on daily basis.
He also lamented about the entitlement of some of beggers, describing it as “annoying.”
Zlatan urged street beggers to engage in productive and dignified ventures as a lasting solution to their financial struggles.
