Nigeria's Super Eagles Keep World Cup Hope Alive As They Edge Past Lesotho With A 2-1 Scoreline At The 2026 Qualifiers

The Super Eagles of Nigeria moved a step closer to 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification after edging past Lesotho with a 2-1 scoreline on Friday, October 10, 2025 in a match that could pave way for Nigeria’s campaign in no distant time.

Nigeria's Troost Ekong gave his team the perfect lead in the 55th minute by converting a penalty chance following a handball gone wrong in the Lesotho box, sending Nigerians into absolute happiness.

Akor Adams later doubled the advantage with a clinical finish in the 80th minute, seemingly putting Nigeria in control of the game. Lesotho responded in the 83rd minute with a goal from Kalake, but the Eagles held firm to secure the crucial three points as their efforts to get past them proved abortive.

Interesting much!
