Famous British rapper Dave has dissed Nigerian strikers in one of the songs on his new album, The Boy Who Play The Harp.
On the track, ‘Chapter 16’, Dave claimed Nigerian strikers lie about their age by using them as a comparison with ladies who lie about their age.
“H*es lying about their age like Nigerian strikers,” he raps.
Dave’s diss track has sparked controversy online, with many accusing him of generalisation.
Though a British citizen, Dave has Nigerian heritage through his parents who are emigrants from Edo State, Nigeria.
He has collaborated with Nigerian artists such as Burna Boy, Wizkid, and most recently Tems, on his new album, The Boy Who Play The Harp.
Recall that age-cheating scandals are very common at all levels of Nigerian football, including the national teams.
Nigeria once disbanded the U17 men’s football team due to widespread age-cheating.
