Singer Adekunle Gold Reveals Ongoing Battle With Sickle Cell Disease
Famous Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold has revealed that he is still battling sickle cell crisis.
He made this known in a video of his latest interview shared on social media.
Sharing his experiences, the 38-year-old musician said, “I still have crises.”
While lamenting the pain caused by the disease, Adekunle Gold disclosed that he has been on lifelong medication since he was five years old.
Advising the public on the importance of genotype testing, he noted: “My vision is to make more noise about it because a lot of people don’t know about it, and the important organisations are not making so much moves regarding it”.
“Where sickle cell is more popular or where people know it most is my country Nigeria. And it happens when an SS matches an SS. And that’s why knowing your genotype is very important because the point is you should not bring many more kids that have sickle cell.
“Unfortunately for me, my parents are sickle cell and they brought me to the world. The first time I ever heard of sickle cell was I would fall sick every time with my joints paining me. So when we talk about crisis, it is pains on your joints, my legs and and sometimes stomach. It’s really crazy.
“The first time I noticed that I had it was the night I fell sick and my dad wasn’t home and my mum put me on her back and we walked miles to the hospital. I don’t remember how old I was, maybe like 5 or 7. That was when the doctor told me about it, and they told me that I will be taking folic acid and B complex for the rest of my life. And that’s my life for a very long time even till now.
“I still have crises once in a while but not as bad as I had it when I was a child, you know maybe because I have found a way to take care of myself more properly. And I’m grateful to God for the resources to be able to do that.”

Singer Tiwa Savage Says She Wasn't Happy Being African
Nigerian singer, Tiwa Savage has shut down claims that Afrobeats is currently having its worst performance in two decades.
Reputable music executives, including Paul Okoye aka Paulo, and DJ Big N, have claimed that Afrobeats is declining in separate interviews and social media posts.
However, speaking at the Unstoppable Africans event recently, Savage boasted that Afrobeats is unstoppable.
She argued that contrary to claims that the genre was declining, it is gaining more grounds on charts and tours.
She also spoke about the cultural impact of Afrobeats, recalling that she used to be unhappy about being an African growing up in London, but the positive image Afrobeats is giving the continent has made her become proud of her race.
The singer noted that Afrobeats has achieved a lot despite not having enough support, structure or infrastructure.
“Afrobeats is the fastest growing genre in the world. We kind of created it with nothing; no support, no infrastructure, no real belief even from our own people initially.
“I remember growing up in London and I was not happy being African. But now I’m so proud because of how big Afrobeats is growing.
“There was a conversation at one point that Afrobeats is going to have its 15 minutes of fame and then fades away. But we are still here. We are not slowing down. In fact, we are filling out stadiums, and we are getting the biggest songs on the charts right now.
“I don’t know how true this is, but apparently one in every four black persons is a Nigerian or an African.
“So, we are not going anywhere. As much as they are trying to quiet us down, the music is not going anywhere. We are Africans and we are unstoppable,” she remarked.

The woman, identified only as Jane Doe, recently petitioned the Nigeria Police Force against the singer.

Reacting to the claims, the rapper, in a lengthy post on his Instagram story, denied the allegations, stating that he is “cooperating fully with the authorities to see that truth is established”.
He further claimed that the allegations are being sponsored by his professional rivals.
While admitting to once having a romantic affair with Jane Doe, Blaqbonez said their relationship ended amicably and respectfully.
He wrote: “At the heart of these stories lies a personal relationship from my past, one that ended respectfully without conflict. Rapper Odumodublvck Says Nigerian Politics Is Shambolic
Renowned Nigerian rapper and singer Tochukwu Ojogwu, known as Odumodublvck, has expressed his view on Nigerian politics by saying it is “shambolic”.
He said: “Politics in Nigeria is a shambolic scene like everywhere in the world. When you gives man power, it never really goes as planned regardless of whether the person is good or bad. If the person is bad, bad people are going to make him worse. And if the person is good, you will have bad people trying to contaminate the good."
“Nigerians have been so brainwashed that when there is a problem, the first thing they think about is the president. You have your local chairman, councillor, senator, who are directly representing you, but you are holding only the president accountable for all the challenges our society is facing. Other public officials should also be held accountable,” he added conclusively.

'I Feel Sorry For Men With Just One Wife'- Senator Ned Nwoko Drums Support For Polygamy As He Debunks Allegations Of Being Violent On His Estranged Actress Wife Regina Daniels
Senator Ned Nwoko has stirred fresh controversy on social media after saying that he feels “sorry for men with just one wife”, claiming that polygamy gives men more “stability and balance" in what appears to be him drumming support for the type of marriage.
The Delta state politician made the statement during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Sunday, October 26, 2025 where he was also questioned about the ongoing marital debacle with his actress wife, Regina Daniels to which he answered without mincing words.
When the interviewer asked him how he manages to handle four wives — something most men find nearly impossible — Senator Ned Nwoko paused a bit before responding confidently:
“That’s a different topic for another day. But yes, every man should do that. Imagine telling you to stand on one leg — it’s difficult. But when you stand on two, three, or four, you’re more balanced. That’s the example I give. I feel sorry for those who have one wife because it’s difficult to stand on one leg.”
When the interviewer pointed out that the Bible doesn’t support polygamy, the senator responded with alacrity by saying: “The Old Testament does. I’m a man of faith. But that’s not what we’re here for.”
Seun asked if he had any regrets about his marital choices, Nwoko firmly said no.
“No, I don’t have any regret. I would do the same thing again. That’s the way it should be — you should marry who you want to marry.”
The senator also debunked allegations of domestic violence made against him by Regina Daniels, who recently shared emotionally inclined posts suggesting that she had suffered abuse in the hands of the older man.
“Come on, you know I’m not a violent person. I respect my wives. I love them and my kids,” he said.
His comments on the one-on-one interview with Channels TV's Seun Okinbaloye is coming some hours after his estranged actress wife, Regina, announced the purchase of a new Lagos house on her Instagram page amid ongoing separation rumours trailing them.
The couple's six-year-old marriage which was the most talked about as at then because of their age gap appears to have hit the rocks with accusations flying left, right and center.
