In a video posted on her X account, Akindele reflected on her early acting journey, revealing that the path to success wasn’t smooth.

She recalled starting out in 1996, taking minor “waka pass” roles and facing several rejections at auditions before her big break finally came.

“I made that around 1999. I started my career from like 1996, playing waka pass roles, 1997 going for auditions, getting a lot of nos,” she said.

The actress further explained how her perseverance paid off when she was eventually cast in the TV series ‘I Need to Know’.

“Then I got one big yes with I Need to Know, and that is how I got my first ₦1 million.”

Speaking on how she used the money, Akindele revealed that the first person she informed was her mother, who encouraged her to pay her tithe before spending any part of it.

“What did I do with one million naira? First, I showed it to my mom. Of course, she knew about it, and then mommy advised that I have to pay my tithe first,”

“I paid my tithe, then I entered Yaba because I didn’t have shoes. I changed my wardrobe, shoes, bags, everything. The girl that had no shoes yesterday has today.”

He Didn’t Do The Right Thing – Singer Tope Alabi Finally Breaks Silence Over Alleged First Marriage

Famous Nigerian gospel singer Tope Alabi has finally addressed the controversy surrounding her alleged marriage to the father of her first child.

DAILY POST reports that Tope Alabi was previously in a relationship with Lekan Olaoye, and the duo had a daughter, Ayomikun.

After separating from Olaoye, Tope Alabi married Soji Alabi in November 2000, and the union produced two children.

Recall that the singer was criticised on social media a few months ago for not inviting Olaoye to their daughter’s wedding and for changing Ayomikun’s surname to that of her current husband.

However, speaking about her previous relationship in a recent video shared on her Facebook page, the gospel singer stated that her ex never brought his family to her father, let alone perform the traditional rite for marriage.

She said: “I started living with him, feeling there was no point going back to where my family was pressuring me to marry at all costs.

Little did I know I had moved from the frying pan to the fire. Whenever I visited home, my father would express his concern.

“You know, he couldn’t tell me not to live with the man. [He’d say] that he hadn’t met the man I was living with nor any of his family members. It took repeated insistence before my so-called partner finally came one night, bringing along work friends.

“My family asked when his family would come for the introduction, and all he said was, ‘Okay’.

“If that ‘okay’ was ever going to come to pass, perhaps it would have been tomorrow. But tomorrow never came. Now, I don’t even need his ‘okay’ anymore. My dear father, who once longed for it, is no longer here. While here, he received a far better ‘okay’ anymore. My dear father, who once longed for it, is no longer here. While here, he received a far better ‘okay’ from a good family. “Ladies, please listen to me, when a man sees that you are gullible or vulnerable, he can take advantage of you”.

Her Current Battle With Drugs And Alcohol Abuse Is The Root Of Our Problem - Senator Ned Nwoko Breaks Silence On His Marital Debacle With Actress Regina Daniels

Senator Ned Nwoko has come out to refute unfounded claims that he’s been subjecting his wife, actress Regina Daniels, to domestic violence since they got married few years ago.

He shared the statement on his Instagram page this afternoon as the Delta politician claimed Regina has been battling with hard drugs and has refused to go into rehab either in Nigeria or Jordan where she would have no access to hard drugs. He argued that he has other wives before her and none can ever accuse him of being v!olent towards them.

He further claimed that Regina has in the last 48 hours destroyed his properties as well as physically abused their domestic staff. He said she has now moved to a place where she will have full access to drugs. He said that he is scared for her life.

He went on ahead to accuse Regina's brother, Sammy, and a certain Ann of being the drug suppliers of Regina.

He also said that the video put out there was the chaos that erupted after Regina, while allegedly under the influence of drugs, refused to take their child that was under the weather to the hospital and even allegedly attacked their domestic nurse who exposed her excessive drug use.

‘’REGINA’S UNPROVOKED CARNAGE AND RAMPAGE IN MY HOUSE AND IN MY ABSENCE

Regina was not always like this. Her current battle with drugs and alcohol abuse is the root of our problem. She must continue her rehabilitation program, or I fear for her life and safety. Now she has moved to a place where she will have unrestricted access to drugs. I have other wives, and none will ever accuse me of violence. Regina is the violent one here, slapping and hitting 3 staff in the past 48 hours and destroying property, including cars and windows, for no just cause. The truth is, I have set a clear condition for her to accept rehab in Asokoro or outside Nigeria especially Jordan where she will not have access to drugs. A clear headed regina would have taken moon to the hospital but instead she even threatened to kill our resident nurse(for exposing her drugs abuse). While I took Moon to hospital, a scene of chaos unfolded at home, orchestrated by Sammy, Regina’s main drug supplier. Another known supplier of drugs to Regina is the tiny evil devil called Ann.'' he wrote

He also shared a video showing the cars and windows Regina allegedly damaged in the process of being high on drugs.

'They Live On Borrowed Wigs, Outfits’ – Comedian AY Speaks On Fake Celebrity Lifestyle

Nigerian comedian and actor Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, has cautioned Nigerians against falling into the trap of social media comparisons, warning that much of what people see online is staged and unrealistic.

In a video shared on his Instagram page on Thursday, AY spoke about how social media often presents a distorted version of reality, where luxury lifestyles, exotic vacations, and designer fashion create the illusion of effortless success.

According to him, many of the glamorous posts people admire are carefully curated to project false images of wealth and happiness.

The actor revealed that some influencers and content creators go as far as borrowing clothes, posing in hotel lobbies, or using other people’s cars just to appear successful.

AY likened social media to a movie set where everything is staged, urging fans to focus on personal growth rather than competing with illusions, emphasizing on living simply and authentically.

“Many of these celebrities you envy are living on borrowed wigs, borrowed outfits, and borrowed lifestyles. Some take pictures in hotel lobbies and call them their new homes, while others pose with cars that don’t belong to them. Social media is like a movie set; not everything you see online is real.”

The comedian concluded by advising his followers to “grow at their own pace,” remain true to themselves, and choose contentment over comparison.

Nigerian comedian and skit maker Zic Saloma has opened up about his decision to undergo nose surgery, revealing that the procedure was motivated by years of insecurity about his appearance.

In a video shared on his Instagram page, the skit maker explained that he had lost several opportunities in the entertainment industry because of how he looked, prompting him to make a change through cosmetic surgery.

He also encouraged people who can afford safe cosmetic procedures to go ahead with them if it helps improve their confidence and self-esteem.

He said, “I decided to undergo nose surgery because I wasn’t comfortable with my appearance. I had lost several job opportunities in the past because of how I looked. If you can afford cosmetic surgery, do it. If it will make you feel better, go for it.”

The comedian, who previously revealed that he had rhinoplasty in Turkey, shared that the procedure lasted over four hours and also included a facelift and eye rejuvenation.

He disclosed that the entire process cost about $11,000, though he didn’t pay for the surgery itself as it was part of a collaboration with the hospital.

Rapper M.I Abaga Reveals He Prefers To Raise His Kids In Nigeria

Nigerian rapper and music executive, M.I Abaga, has revealed that he would prefer to raise his future children in Nigeria because of the country’s strong sense of family and community.

Speaking in a recent interview, the hip-hop star said Nigeria offers a more supportive environment for raising children compared to some Western countries.

According to him, the communal lifestyle in Nigeria makes parenting easier, as relatives are often available to help.

He said, “There are a lot of things appealing about home, especially because we’re already ingrained in that system. There’s a lot of support as well. I feel it’s very difficult for parents here.

“But if you have family, now you have enough people that can stay at home and support you. But it’s not easy, man.”

M.I contrasted this with life abroad, particularly in the United States, where many people work long hours and family members may not be available to offer help.

He added that while he understands the appeal of raising kids overseas, Nigeria provides a stronger foundation for children to understand their roots and culture before gaining exposure abroad.

Although M.I noted that he is not yet making concrete family plans, he emphasized that Nigeria’s close-knit culture remains one of its greatest advantages when it comes to raising children.
